The Best Dog Parks in Washington DC

Best Dog Parks
Your dog is more than just a pet. He or she is part of your family, your best friend, and your fur baby. Alexandria Volkswagen loves dogs too, which is we want to see yours healthy and happy! So, take your favorite four-legged companion to one of these great dog parks in Washington DC so he can play and get some good exercise. Happy dogs are healthy dogs!

Langdon Dog Park

Langdon Dog Park is one of the biggest parks in the entire Alexandria area. It provides a convenient spot for dog-loving neighbors to meet, build friendships, and strengthen their communities. By providing a cheap, safe, and convenient place for your dog to socialize, owners also learn how to become better pet parents. If you would like to help, they are always in need of volunteers. Langdon Dog Park is located at 2901 20th Street NE.

Shaw Dog Park

Shaw Dog Park is a 15,000 square foot, fenced-in park ran operated by a non-profit. It’s funded solely by donations from dog owners and foundations in the Arlington area and beyond. The park provides a safe place for well-tempered dogs in an urban environment and has two enclosures. One is for small dogs under 25 pounds, as well as for disabled dogs and older dogs. The other area is for larger and more active dogs that like to chase balls and run around more. There is no fee to use the dog park, but donations are deeply appreciated. It is located at 1651 11th St NW.

S Street Dog Park

S Street Dog Park is known for having a friendly atmosphere and a good community of dog-loving folks in the Washington DC area. It has a pool that many dogs enjoy in the warmer weather and lots of convenient street parking. You’ll find S Street Dog Park on (you guessed it) S St NW & 17th St NW.

Lansburgh Dog Park

Lansburgh Dog Park tends to be less crowded than many other dog parks around Springfield, which can be a pro or con depending on your situation. It may not be a great place for socialization, but is a good spot for some one-on-one play with your best bud. It’s a nice dog park with excellent facilities, including a large and small dog area, water fountains, and extra poop bags in case you run out. The ground is covered in gravel, not grass and can get a bit muddy during rainy weather.
