My wife and I just bought a new 2024 Tiguan SE from Alexandria VW, and we were very impressed with the attention and service we received. We initially made an appointment with Atig Popal, who was our Sales Associate, for Friday but we had to bump it up to Thursday, which Atig said "no problem, come on in". (We found out later that Thursday was Atig's day off, which he gave up to accommodate our schedule) Atig made our car buying experience a real pleasure. He showed us a number of vehicles and features we were interested in. He has a very easy-going way about him, that made us very comfortable, asking questions and discussing details with him. We also shared some laughs and stories along the way. which made more relaxed. He was genuinely helpful and caring that we got what we wanted. We met a number of other staff members that all were helpful and treated us like family. Such a good team there. We were able to shop, buy and drive away all in the same afternoon. I wish I could give this dealership a zero!! This past Monday through Wednesday, I was helping my daughter search for a used vehicle. My wife and I are both retired and live full time in our RV traveling the country. Our adult daughter lives in Largo, Fl., ground zero for two recent hurricanes. She and her dog are currently sleeping on a friends couch and she has no transportation to her new, much lower paying job. She asked for help locating one of several cars she would like to purchase with a pre approved loan from her credit union. The southeast is very low on inventory due to the storms and all the vehicles that were washed away or flooded out. I started looking up in the northeast and mid Atlantic area for the vehicle on the top of her list in the exact color, options and price all while staying within the amount of the loan. (Because that's what Dads do!!) She has very little money as it is, and needs to still find and furnish her own place and there is none leftover to add to the loan amount.. I found the exact match of her top pick after 3 days of internet searching at Alexandria VW. I phoned to store at their opening at 9 a.m. and spoke with a very knowledgeable and professional young salesperson. This person answered all my questions and concerns and even took the time to down load a virtual meeting app and showed me all around the vehicle so I could look at it just like I was standing there. I then put the salesperson in touch with my daughter in Fl. and they continued with the purchase. I received a call from the salesperson late morning as the paperwork was finished and ready for the Finance Office. I was informed that another salesperson was giving a test drive to a customer who had just recently arrived. I asked if we were "good" or if I needed to put a deposit down to hold the car so it was not sold to some one else. The salesperson went to inquire and I was told upon their return to the phone that the Used Car Mgr. Marcello Grimaldi, said "no, we don't take deposits over the phone to hold a car and if a person comes in to the dealership and wants the same car, the in store customer gets it." I of course was speechless and could tell the salesperson was mortified they had to tell a customer they were not getting the car they had been working on purchasing for almost four hours and that someone in the dealership for less than half that time was allowed to purchase it. I told the salesperson I will call right back and proceeded to make two attempts to call the General Mgr. I was told he was in a meeting the first time and the second time he was on the phone. The third call I made trying to reach him was met with an "he unavailable" response. I asked the person who answered my third call to please take my name and number and have him call me ASAP. Today is Friday and still no call. After the third call, I called and asked to speak with a New Car Mgr. and to my surprise, the phone was actually answered by one. I explained everything and was told in no uncertain terms that I was in the right and this should not have happened and I would receive a call back within ten to fifteen minutes. Before we hung up I offered to give my credit card information and was told "No Sir, your word is good enough foe me", Guess what? ..... I'm still waiting for that call. After I broke the news to my daughter, who was looking forward to some positive news, she was so upset after what she has already been through, she left work for the day. I myself was furious after that and put in a call to VW USA and filed a formal complaint. I'll bet you can't guess how long it took for someone in authority up there to get in touch with me? Me? I can't tell you either because no one from any where is the VW Empire or dealership has reached out to me.

He knew every feature of the car and was patient in explaining it and walked me through it without being condescending or pushy. He had just the right touch and followed up with helpful emails. Zara Ezzaitouni was the most patient, attentive, and caring sales associate I’ve come across in a long time. Her response time was immediate phone and text. I know my husband and I weren’t the easiest to work with but she maintained patience and professionalism through out the entire process. Zahra Ezzaitouni Was my sales associate. She very responsive to all of my texts, emails, questions. We were able to do the majority of the paperwork online, so my time at the dealership was limited. The car was clean and well maintained. I live 4 hours away , Zarah picked me up at the Amtrak station and took me back to the dealership to get the car. She really put in 100% effort and really accommodated me. The finance process was smooth and Joe was helpful. It really was a pleasant experience.
I recently had the chance to check out the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan, but what really stood out to me wasn’t just the car—it was the dealership experience. After a less-than-stellar encounter at another dealership, I was prepared for the worst, but the team here, especially the salesman, Rob Rocheford, really turned things around. From the moment I walked in, he was incredibly friendly and attentive. Juggling three kids with no phones is tough enough, but he made the process feel easy. He didn’t rush me, listened to my needs, and was patient as I went over the options. The finance manager, Jasmin Mason, was also great to work with—quick and efficient without any of the usual stress. It's rare to find that kind of service where you actually feel like someone cares about your situation and isn't just trying to push a sale. As for the Tiguan itself, it’s really a beautiful car—very drivable and comfortable. All the little bugs in the navigation system that annoyed me in the 2020 and 2021 models are gone. The updates in this version make a big difference, and it’s a smoother experience overall. But honestly, what sealed the deal for me wasn’t just the car—it was the excellent experience at the dealership.

I bought my first car about a month or so ago at this dealership with Rob Rocheford. It was a great experience and he answered all of my questions, however I unfortunately did not look at the JD Power vehicle valuation beforehand. I think in some ways he took advantage of my lack of knowledge regarding cars and sold me the car at a price he knew was way too high. As I said this was my fault, but I recommend anyone going in to ensure they have a good understanding of how much the used car is actually worth-and negotiate! Regardless, I do love my car and learned a valuable lesson.
