Did you know that the tires on your Volkswagen wear down at different rates? The front axle is the one that handles the steering, and the engine is also usually in the front. This means that the front tires usually wear down at a quicker rate than the rear ones. Tire rotation spreads out this wear more evenly so that the tires last longer.
When our technicians inspect your tires, they’ll look at tread depth, wear patterns, and inflation. Inflation is the easiest; if your tires have too much or too little air, they’ll adjust the levels. If the tread depth is too low (2/32” or lower), you’ll need to have new tires installed. And if the tread wear pattern is uneven, you’ll likely need new tires and other repairs.
