You’re driving along the roads of Washington DC, and suddenly, you notice that one or more of the dashboard symbols are now illuminated? What should you do? Don’t panic! If the light is yellow, you will want to bring your vehicle in to be looked at by a professional as soon as possible. If the light is red, you should pull over when it is safe to do so and call for assistance. Alexandria Volkswagen has compiled a guide to the Volkswagen Jetta warning lights, so you have a better idea of what is going on with your vehicle when this happens.
Antilock Braking System Malfunction: If your antilock braking system is not operating as it should, this light and the brake light will be illuminated.
AdBlue® Level Warning: If this light is on, it could indicate an issue with the AdBlue® system, or it could just need a refill. If the wrench icon is also lit, it could also be a problem with the system or that it was not filled with standard AdBlue®.
AdBlue® No Restart Warning: This red warning light is a bit more serious. It means there is not enough AdBlue® and that the engine can’t be restarted.
Airbag Problem: This light could show that there is a problem with the belt tensioning system or that the passenger airbag is now deactivated.
Automatic Transmission Malfunction: If this light goes on, make an appointment to have the transmission inspected by a professional.
Brake Light Bulb Failure: If you see this light, one or more of the brake lights are not working.
Brake Pad Wear: When you see this light, take a look at your brake pads. It may be time for a replacement.

DRL: This green light is simply telling you that your daytime running lights are on.
DSG® Transmission Too Hot: When this red light is illuminated, you should not continue driving. You need to give the transmission some time to cool off.
