Finally, the 2025 Volkswagen Taos features an updated version of the 1.5L EA211 turbocharged four-cylinder TSI® engine. This engine now outputs up to 174 hp instead of 158 hp, and a new eight-speed automatic transmission improves drivability on Washington D.C. roads above and beyond what the previous seven-speed DSG® dual-clutch automatic provided.
