If you’re as anxious to get out and enjoy summer as we are, then you’ll appreciate our list of Annandale parks just waiting for you and your family to visit. All are within a short drive of Arlington and offer something special for the outdoor lover in you.

Hidden Oaks Nature Center

Located within the boundaries of the expansive 52-acre Annandale District Park, Hidden Oaks Nature Park not only offers visitors access to cooling woodland trails, babbling creeks, a pond, play areas, and live animal exhibits, but there’s a resource library and a rain garden as well.

Mason District Park

Just a short jaunt from Washington DC, Mason District Park offers access to hiking trails, play areas, gaming fields, picnic and shelter areas, a tennis court and, and more. In the summer, you can even take advantage of free children’s events and Arts in the Park, as well as the Spotlight by Starlight series.

Wakefield Park

Not only does Wakefield Park offer access to miles of walking and hiking trails, but it’s also home to the Wakefield Skate Park and the Audrey Moore RECenter, so no matter what the weather, you can get the exercise you need in a way that’ll get your heart pumping. Green Springs Gardens

At Green Springs Gardens, you’re free to stroll along the leisurely trails, explore the native plant garden, learn about horticulture in the demonstration gardens, or see exotic species expertly cared for in the greenhouse. Once you’re exhausted and happy, stop by the gift shop to pick up a book, so you can start a world-class garden of your own.
